3.150 protagonists lead the way of sociocultural centres in Baden-Württemberg. Among them are to be found:
850 employees, of which:
230 regular employees, only 1/4 of them work full time
326 marginal employees (mini jobs), apprentices, trainees, voluntary service
Volunteers run almost half the LAKS sociocultural centres.
In 2015, sociocultural centres have invested round about 28 million euros in cultural activities.
On average 56% of the annual budget comes from the sociocultural centres´ own resources, with peaks to 87%
44% of the annual budget comes from the public sector
In 2020 the state of Baden-Württemberg supported sociocultural centres with 4,2 million euros
These figures concern 2015 and 2016.
Since 1992, the federal association of sociocultural centres collects periodically data about its members´ situation and perspectives. In 2015 and for the third time already, the conception of this inquiry, which now includes an evaluation of the data, has been carried out in collaboration with Dr. Christoph Mager, chair of the Human Geography department in KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology).
